Excursion 1: Fanefjord Church and Cliffs of Møn (Southern Zealand)
9.15 Departure from Copenhagen
10.45-12.00 Fanefjord Church. The church is decorated with a rich series of paintings (about 1500) by the Master of Elmelunde. The paintings suffer severely from salt decay and a conservation action is ongoing at the time of the conference. An introduction to the paintings, the salt decay and the conservation is given.
12.00-12.30 Lunch
13.15-14.45 Cliffs of Møn. The cliffs of Møn are a unique natural phenomenon: not only are the steep cliffs dramatic but the forest and the open areas are also beautiful.
